How to install SIXEMPRESS

This guide is intended to help you install the SIXEMPRESS system on STLSe.

Installing SIXEMPRESS

  1. Create an account on stlse.com and login to the admin panel
  2. Press the “Create” button on the Applications screen of the admin panel
  3. Select the “SIXEMPRESS” template and go forward
  4. Add any additional modules you may want, e.g.:
  • @sixempress/usedproducts
  • @sixempress/repairs
  • @sixempress/calendar
  1. On first login you can enter any username/password and a user will be created with those credentials
  2. You will login to a blank screen, open the menu on the left by clicking the three dashes in the top left
  3. In the menu there should be a voice with a key icon, click that voice and it will expand into a collection of subroutes
  4. Click on the Roles subroute and it will open a table with only 1 role called “StartRole”
  5. Press on the row of “StartRole” and then press edit, this will open a form with permissions for that role
  6. Activate all permissions (there should be a button at the top to do all at once)
  7. Save and reload the page

After reloading you should be able to open the menu and see all voices. From here you can use your system.

Please note:
If you install new modules they may require for you to enable the permissions from the roles screen before viewing them. Make sure to double check that all permissions are active.

Synchronize with WordPress/Woocommerce

You can also synchronize SIXEMPRESS in real time with your own custom website, to enable synchronization do as follows:

  1. Ensure that you have installed WooCommerce on you WordPress website
  2. Add the STLSe module called @sixempress/external_sync to your application and reload
  3. Download the WordPress plugin zip: https://sixempress.com/assets/downloads/sixempress-external-sync.zip
  4. Install the WordPress plugin in your WordPress website
  5. There should be a new voice in the left sidebar called “SIXEMPRESS”, click on it to open the configuration window
  6. In the configuration insert your login credentials and save
  7. A notice should appear saying that the connection was successful
  8. Don’t close the WordPress site yet, go to settings > permalinks and ensure that it is NOT set to the first available option (e.g. https://example.com/?p=123). If it is, then change it to any other option and save
  9. Now you can go to the SIXEMPRESS panel and open the “External connection” window page
  10. In this page you will see your new website connected but not activated, if it’s not visible refresh the page.
  11. Activate the connection by clicking on the toggle and set the stock location to use for that connection
  12. Press save

Now your system is connected to your website, and you can also upload photos and media files!

Synchronize with Shopify

  1. Add the STLSe module called @sixempress/external_sync to your system and reload
  2. Open the “External Connections” menu voice
  3. Click on “Connect Shopify”
  4. Read the instruction carefully and press forward
  5. Enter your credentials
  6. Once connected, reload and configure your locations
  7. Activate your connection and save

Now your system is synchronized with Shopify!

Connect your printers

SIXEMPRESS is a web based application, meaning that it can’t communicate directly with your printers and can only print through your browsers’ default print screen. For this reason an additional installable program is needed to improve the printing experience, the steps are:

  1. Download the Windows installable (only 64 bit) from https://sixempress.com/assets/downloads/SIXEMPRESS_Addons_Setup_1.0.0.exe
  2. Install it and execute it
  3. A login window should appear, login with your credentials
  4. After logging in you will see the configuration screen where you can specify which printer to use for which
  5. Once configured, go back to the SIXEMPRESS panel and open the External Connection window
  6. You should see a new entry in the list that is disabled and it contains a unique ID for example:
    f5c20532-c3dbf97f-cc2aac395-a4aad549-c3dbf97f-c17861cs-cc2fc395-f5c20532. That ID should correspond to the ID in the bottom corner that you see in the windows application.
  7. If the ID matches then activate the connection and save
  8. After saving press the three dots in the top right to and go to SIXEMPRESS settings
  9. In the settings there should be a section for Printing options (Simple printing)
  10. Enable the simple printing option and toggle the checkbox based on your preferences
  11. The settings is saved automatically
  12. Now try to print something and it will be automatically printed to the configured printer with no popup screen!

(Optional) To connect your Dymo label printer:

  1. Go to https://www.dymo.com/online-support.html
  2. Download and install DYMO Connect for Desktop Windows
  3. After installing Dymo Connect, launch it. It should start the Dymo web service (available in the tray icons)
  4. Go to the SIXEMPRESS addons panel and refresh the list of printers
  5. You should no see the DYMO label printer listed

Note: You can connect multiple different windows executables and have printers in different locations!
